In The Studio is a large interactive installation on the second floor of the Grammy Museum in L.A. It consists of eight pods, each featuring an unique guided recording studio experience. Visitors interact with audio tools that allow them to record, mix, master & re-mix music under the guidance of well known musicians, producers and engineers.

Each pod contains a touchscreen, through which a visitor controls the audio and a video screen, by which they are guided through various steps in the audio production chain. The video screen and touchscreen in each pod are synced via a communication server that allows messages to be sent over a network to each computer.

I designed a software architecture that allowed each application to be unique in it's content while maintaining a consistent user experience. This involved writing a user interface library to facilitate applying unique design themes to each component in the interface and writing a framework for handling the sequencing of steps in each interactive.
